5 Super Fun Party Games For Post-Pandemic Friend Hangs
Having missed out on all the hugs and hangs, we’re getting ready for some serious post-pandemic fun. Meetings IRL could be a tad awkward at first – fingers crossed videocalls haven’t stolen the last of our social skills – so what’s a better ice-breaker than fun party games. Read this article and see some our favorite party games.
1. No Laughing Game!
Let’s kick off with something simple, effortless yet hilarious – No Laughing Game is one of the best party games for small groups. The name of the game says it all – quite simply, you’re just not allowed to laugh. If you laugh, you lose!
How to play: So basically, you all take turns to be the leader. As a leader, your job is to make everyone laugh without getting physical (like tickling). Here are some ideas on how to do it:
- Collage of memes;
- Hilarious TikTok compilation;
- Funny story;
- Improvised stand-up show, etc.
And the challenge of the players is try not to laugh. The punishment for laughing? Well, it all depends on the crowd and your imagination.
Min. players: 3
What you’ll need: Imagination and sense of humor (or sometimes even lack of it!)
Mosko variation: Buy shots of Mosko as a punishment for laughing
2. Doo Doo Doo
Finally a fun party game that lets you sing your heart out and not feel embarrassed about it – in fact, the more terrible the singing, the funnier it will get, so it’s your jam!
How to play: No rocket science here – all you have to do is decide who’s the round leader and the star. The leader then picks a song and plays it on the star’s headphones. The task of the star is to sing the song’s lyrics using only one sound (doo-doo-doo). Who can guess the song is the winner of the round and becomes the leader of the next one.
Min. players: 4
What you’ll need: Music streaming service, headphones
Mosko variation: Hum all songs by using only two words “Mosko” or “Moskovskaya”
3. Voting Game
This is probably of the best party games for groups. Either you know one another since forever or you’ve just met, you will definitely find out A LOT about your gang!
How to play: Prepare some cards with questions that start “Who do you think…”, like:
- Who do you think loves a good midnight snack?
- Who do you think would be the worst fortune teller?
- Who do you think is the best party buddy?
Everyone writes down their votes and the leader of the game collects it and reads out the votes anonymously. Trust us, there’s going to be a lot of laughter.
Min. players: 6
What you’ll need:Prepared cards with questions, paper sheets, pens, bowl to collect votes
Mosko variation: Include questions like “Whose favorite drink is vodka?”
4. Balloon Shave
Something less brainy, but more active and exciting? Here you go, we’re gonna get messy and quite literally – shave balloons!
How to play: Players split into two teams and each team picks the “lucky” one who will take one end of an inflated and shaving cream covered balloon in their mouth. And let the fun begin – first team to remove all foam from the balloon using a razor, wins!
Min. players: 4
What you’ll need: Balloons, razors, shaving foam
Mosko variation: Everyone takes a shot of Mosko for each balloon that pops
5. What am I Touching?
Even the name of this game promises that this is one of the most hilarious party games ever! And that is no exaggeration.
How to play: Prepare all kinds of items – literally anything you can find will do, from foods to cutlery, stationery and even tools. Participants need to guess the items without looking, just by touching them. How to achieve that?
- Either blindfold the player who’s guessing;
- Or put all items in a non-transparent bag.
Min. players: 2
What you’ll need: Blindfold or bag, various items you can find around
Mosko variation: Include a bottle of Mosko among the items to guess
Remember to always be responsible and follow your local rules and regulations on gatherings. If they are allowed – what are you waiting for? Call your friends now and go, have fun!
